There are many types and styles one can choose from when becoming a meditator. One thing they all share is a basic structure of breath work, observation of thought and release. Many times this is referred to as the experience of calm, relaxation, surrender or "letting go". There are also a myriad of words to describe the experience. Sometimes in meditation classes instructors will use wording from ancient cultures for the instruction in these classes. None of this is really that important. No prior experience is needed to meditate.
Many people have hesitated to learn about meditation, yoga and other ancient practices, because they fear it might be too unusual for them, or they think it may take too much time. Let me reassure you, THIS IS NOT THE CASE! Meditating is as natural to all humans as breathing and sleeping. Most people are not aware that they already meditate everyday. The draw back here is that not being aware of meditating means it can't help enrich your life very much.
I work with people individually and in small groups in very comfortable settings. Laying down with blanket and pillow nearly asleep, with absolutely gorgeous music playing. It seems confusing why more people don't meditate. My goal in working with people is to help them realize their meditative experiences at a much higher level of awareness.
Effective meditation can be done in as little as 5 minutes in certain situations and for others can go for several hours to be very life changing. Some styles of meditation can produce blissful learning states in about 30 minutes once a person has developed the awareness to be able to use their mind as a tool experiencing greater joy. Learning to become a regular meditator is essential to happiness and using this wonderful gift for the heart, mind, and body's benefit is truly rewarding. One's conscious experiences of life begin to grow and open, bringing about beautiful understanding and incredible potential.
Neuroscience, working together with ancient spirituality, has brought to our day and age some amazing meditation opportunities. Although I am capable of sharing instruction in many styles of meditation from the past, and I do work with people to learn these past styles. I am very committed to the growth and understanding of newer brain balancing meditation awareness. These newer styles still offer to those who love the chakras, mantra, vibrational awareness and Kundalini the ability to connect.
